5 Easy Stretching Exercises For Seniors
It is believed those seniors who exercise live longer and their strength is as equal to 10 years younger people then them. This can only happen if you are used to doing exercise regularly. While doing exercise it is not important that you are supposed to do 1 or 2 hours every day. Doing exercise for few minutes can also work at least a minimum of half an hour. Exercising also solves a lot of problems of older people in terms of their bones formation.
There are certain exercises that are recommended specially for older men and women who have crossed the age of 60:
1. Rotating your Shoulders
In this stretching exercise for seniors what they have to do is that they have to first lie down in a relaxed position. The next thing is to stretch your arms first downwards. Stretch your hands least for few seconds. Then next stretch your both hands upwards and keep your hands in that position for few seconds. This exercise is useful for the shoulders of the body.
2. Doing Exercise Using the Wall
In this stretching exercise for seniors a wall is also included in it. As for you seniors what you have to do is stand near a wall but very near. You will have to first touch the wall in such a way that your arms are firmly straight. Bend your left leg first in such a way that your legs toes touch the ground. Then bend the leg so that your body is pushed back. You can repeat this exercise few times in a day.
3. Balancing on the Table
This is one of the easiest exercises in the stretching exercises for seniors. For this exercise what your need is a table or some thing which is strong to hold on. What you have to do is that your will have to stand near the table trying to balance on it by standing on your toes. You have to be slow in this exercise. While coming down to your normal position also you have to do it slowly.
4. Arm Raise Exercise
This is a stretching exercise for seniors where through this exercise is you are able to strengthen your shoulder. This exercise is suppose to be done by sitting on a chair.
5. V shaped stretches
This is stretching exercise for seniors where you have bent your body in such a way that it makes a V shape. Here your need to stand and bend letting your hand go straight.
